Paralyzed for life in a diving accident two weeks before his wedding day, physician Claes Hultling made it his life’s mission to help other spinal cord victims. Now he wants to export his know-how and skills to help his wounded brothers and sisters in Africa.

In this documentary we follow Claes Hultling, associate professor at the Karolinska Institute, doctor of neurology Clinic, Karolinska University Hospital and president of the Foundation for Spinal Cord Injuries. After his accident Claes chose to make his life-trauma into a career. He started Spinalis, which has become a world leader in rehabilitation of spinal cord injuries. Now Claes Hultling is facing his biggest challenge ever – to bring his expertise to Africa.
